i could write an effortpost explaining why ssr is inferior to a game from 30 years ago, but that glitch sums it up better than i ever could. it being less awful than most modern remakes because it doesn't treat the player like a toddler is just an indictment of how far the industry's fallen since looking glass died

it really is, i installed this (https://www.nexusmods.com/systemshock2023/mods/118) as a replacement and was surprised at how much more i enjoyed the game because of it. the vanilla ost is so bland and forgettable that i can't believe it was done by one of the guys who worked on the ricardo shock song

oh they did. tl;dr, the last shodan fight is so badly designed that you're better off not picking up the weapon ""upgrades"" they give you on the highest difficulty because they deal a fuckton of damage to yourself. it's so braindead that i almost want nightdive to develop ss3 just to witness the sheer retardation they'd come up with
