you guys are talking about two different kinds of metal roofs

OP picrel is riveted
Heat makes metal expand and contract, loosening the rivets
Then it rains hard and every rivet hole becomes a leak point
You'll be lucking to get 8-10 years out of that piece of shit

A standing seam metal roof is bad ass and will last decades
No rivets
The seam allows for expansion/contraction under temperature changes
