Keep in mind that Jax's torment of Gangle goes hand-in-hand with him trying to make her into his unwilling accomplice - something that was already present in Goose's sketch of them. It might be easier to abuse Kinger due to him being almost completely insane, but this also makes him completely and utterly useless as a partner in crime.

I find Jax and Gangle interesting. I know this general only cares about them insofar as how into each other they are, but there's a lot of underyling weirdness in how they interact with each other. Whenever Jax picks a single partner for anything, it's almost always Gangle. In episode 2 he specifically makes Gangle his driver and in episode 5 he makes her the second extremist suicide bomber. This isn't just a him thing either, in episode 4 she singled him out by far the most for extra tasks to do and, despite the fact that Zooble was encouraging her, it's pretty clear that the whole maid dress thing was her idea. Yet despite this, they still seem pretty chill with each other all things considered. I mean Jax obviously isn't going to hold grudges, but from what we saw in episode 5 he does somewhat care about her feelings, and Gangle is one of the only people in the circus who go up to and talk to Jax without any animosity. Compare this to how Jax gets very annoyed by Ragatha for her supposed "fakeness" (which is probably why he said he liked Gangle better when she was sad in episode 4) and how Zooble and Ragatha generally can't stand Jax even during (somewhat) polite conversation. I feel like Jax kinda sees Gangle as a sidekick of sorts since she's easy to push around, while Gangle doesn't object in part because she's too softspoken, but also because she (as Jax put it) "likes it when he's mean to her" because she craves any kind of attention, even if bad. With how things are going though, it seems Zooble being nice to and hanging out with Gangle is allowing her a positive outlet for attention, and since Jax is very clearly jealous of that, he's spending more time with Pomni as a result, which ironically has made Ragatha jealous of him. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this dynamic develops in episode 6.
