The war has not nessicarily developed in Japans favor. I skimmed Hightails tree, I did not know he could get into the faction. My pants were down. The situation is fubar. On a daily basis Chrysalis and Hightail ask me if I want to lose Canterlot or the Crystal city. My industry can't keep up with the sudden surge in troops I needed, it is bad now that I am fighting two majors.
