Reptile. Nobody ever said dinosaurs were lizards. Richard Owen (the guy who coined the term "dinosaur") considered saurians a reptilian order, and dinosaurs as a distinct suborder from the lizards (lacertilia). And they do indeed resemble reptiles. Which shouldn't be surprising as birds are reptiles. Birds are a subset of reptiles within the dinosaurs.
