Ideas so far from best to worst
>get a different stem because these are incompatible without mods
Just taking the L on a $45 stem and the looks of a cool direct mount stem and getting a regular stem
>broach the inset holes on the bottom of the crown to accept a hex head lock nut, effectively setting a nut into the inset instead of trying to lengthen the bolts and bolt past the inset
I don’t want to do this one because it would work but I don’t have a broach or a press so I would be doing this by either buying several hundred dollars worth of tools, paying someone several hundred dollars to do it for me, or doing it by hand with a file.
>longer rear bolts and spacers with a lock nut all on the bottom of the crown, the front bolts would be flipped with the nut on the stem side
This would look like dogshit and be questionably safe with the bolt length and spacer
>fill the bolt holes with weld, drill and tap it as M6, heat treat the entire top crown
I want to do this but the heat treat aspect of it is the part im concerned over, realistically for what I ride it will be fine, until it isn’t and the crown cracks because of the heat stress.

Pic related is me wasting $1.35 at ace hardware trying out this flange nut and 25mm m6 bolt only to realize it would interfere with the curved bottom of the crown, but this also shows me basically anything would interfere with the curved bottom of the crown. The bolts should go through this way because it would look the best but then you can’t get a nut on here even without a flange because of the curve
