Shalem's skin name drops the French poetry collection "Les Fleurs du Mal" and although subtler, the statues in the back are meant to be Salome and Eve from the Bible. Phantom's entire character is based off of Erik from the Phantom of the Opera—obvious nods to the story in his voice lines & Miss Christine aside, it can be assumed that the Troupe Master & Phantom's relationship is supposed to mirror Erik and Christine's. Ebenholz' real name, Franz von Urtica, is inspired by Franz Schubert: Zwillingstürme im Herbst's "Der Hexenkönig" even borrows directly from Schubert's "Erlkönig". Dorothy's name comes from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and its author, while her first module has the same name as an Iranian film. Tsukinogi's from Kasuga Taisha shrine in Nara (a prefecture known for its deer) and the "favorite book" mentioned in her promotion record is probably The Tale of Genji.
