I hate Sonic's Worldians/Mobians/Blobians being used as NPCs because they all have generally more complex designs including hair, clothing and accessories which results in a weird situation where either the main cast feel somehow under-designed or the surrounding NPCs are notably over-designed and look out of place.

There's no winning with using what basically amounts to Sonic OCs as background characters because everyone comes off looking worse for it.
