I have a feeling the original source might be pretty generic. There are a lot of shows and manga about the love interest being a monster.
But this one, at least how it feels in the anime so far, is... very strange. I feel like I'm watching a crime or a traumatic event with this one.

Yoshi doesn't feel normal himself. He's a bit of a twisted motherfucker himself and Hikaru might be exploiting that here. Like God testing a sinner. That's kinda fucked up.

I wonder if the manga is like this at all. Is the director taking a bit of liberty here? I kinda like this direction if so.
