not once was it ever brought up during recruitment interviews. if anything, it almost felt like a liability, like being too good made them uncomfortable, like your presence might reflect poorly on their own credentials. on top of that, selling ideas to clients or higher ups is tough when they don't even have the mental tools to grasp the problems you're trying to solve, let alone the solutions

luckily, i ended up in r&d which honestly happened by accident, but that's not reflective of the reality for 95% of the market.
