People who don't don't suffer have an especially willfull ignorance at work in them; they are actively pushing away the reality of this imperfect human world and substituting it with a perfect jungle. Essentially it's a kind of just world fallacy, but it's very alluring; it's very hard to accept the world is a hopeless place; people want to invent an alternative, so they make themselves into beasts.
