>They said this about female custodes as well.
GW never said anything about making female Custodes other than several people in the company who were pushing for it for a long time. Where as GW has explicitly said that space marines are male and must come from males.

stuff like this genuinely makes me worried GW would be stupid enough to tank their setting for this. I have no problem with diverse warhammer or trannies in the setting, I think female Custodes is a good change, but Space Marines(TM) being all male is something core to their identity. Just like being female is something core to the Sororitas.

I hope so. A quick google search showed surprisingly far reach for this story and this type of discourse.

>Although, of course, vague—the new rulebook does not go so far as to mention the possibility of female Marines but simply removes any discussion of gender from the process entirely—it stands in stark contrast to the rulebook for the game’s second edition released in 2022, which was criticized by progressives at the time for its specific notation that the creation of a Space Marine requires the “hormonal and biological make-up of the human male,” for its parallels to transphobic language around trans identities.

As far as I can tell its a nothingburger. Most likely there is a relatively small blurb about it in the book and they just say "initiate" instead of "he" in the paragraph and people are really oversensitive on this issue and reading too much into it.

He has assburgers too. Though they got rid of that so I guess its just 'high functioning' autism instead.
