Gunther Pluschow escaped the fall of Tsingtao in WW1 by flying his Taube out of the city until it crashed, then convinced the Chinese peasants who found the plane that it was a dragon he had killed to give him food and money as a reward.
Then he spent the next year making his way back to Germany through the US by seducing women for aid, only to get captured by the bongs where he broke out by hiding in the Tower of London.
