From what we seen from the Direct, every "level" is a different level of the same Mining operation place. So it's basically Hell. Every level has it's own amount of Bananas and own Biome. Even deep underground, some levels have skies. You can roam the level you are in, and go up and down another level. You can dig, but I dont think you can dig down or up another level, thus you have to use the doorways that unlock them.
