Sometimes overcoming budget or technical restrictions results in brilliant creative ideas. Like fog in Silent Hill.
The mansion in the original feels old, with history. You can almost sense its nostalgic smell. Which works perfectly for Tsukihime's story and themes. Those backgrounds remind me of BoC covers, like a photo from the past.
The remake lacks any of that. Its sterile backgrounds look like the were bought from some asset store. No nuance at all, it's a downgrade.
