It irks me that they never bring up my man Frederick McKinley Jones, who not only was a legit inventor who completely revolutionized the transport and trade industry with the invention of his Portable cooling units for trucks and other vehicles, but was a veteran of WWI in an all black unit, and his cooling units were a big contributor to the Allied efforts in WWII, since they made transporting blood, medicine and food significantly easier.
He even had a kickass nickname in "King of Cool".
