I think the 90s are a good decade for the Sven Squad to pick movies from; the 80s was too slasher-heavy and nobody is nostalgic for anything from the 00s. They'd have to spend money transferring stuff themselves from the 60s and 70s because nobody wants to save weirdo 60s druggie-horror/thrillers or over-the-top, no-budget, drive-in exploitation films from the 70s, and a local TV station isn't going to have that kind of money laying around.

The 90s is a nice middle ground that has a lot of light-hearted genre films to choose from (some of which they played already).
