historically speaking, being ostracized from a tribe is more deadly then being beaten up.

if your a violent psycho, then a tiny tribe, where everyone depends on eachother, will gang up on you and kill you with rocks and sticks. even if they just don't cooperate with you, your still screwed if the only guy in the village who makes bows doesn't fuck with you.

also fucking bows have been around for ever, so raw streangth has been inferior to social skills AND a bow for almost all of human history.
