I've always wondered why more games don't have a "director" à la L4D, specifically valve's multilayer games. DOTA2 has had multiple patches of
>memeback: win for 40min, lose 1 teamfight, lose game at 60min
and no one seems to enjoy that. Certainly a few key plays should be game defining. Personally I'm a fan of things being balanced with momentum and inertia
>don't push with an advantage
>enemy team closes gap and wins
Mixed with
>stomping the enemy
>win in 15 minutes
With the key being that skill and teamwork are not punished, and stomps aren't prolonged to give one team a "fair" chance where the matchmaking algorithm should have already done so (this is where victory + player stats + behavior scoring/reports could shine in theory) it's where, in theory, a director could push things in favor of a losing team without penalizing good plays and teamwork by the winning team. It becomes more of a spice factor where the games become more interesting even if they are a stomp.
>how would this work?
Fuck they can hire me before i get into it. I haven't even played the game for the past several months lol. I just want to see it succeed.
