I love him because he used to be just an edgy little shit who was just consuming tons of horror because it made him feel better about being an outcast. Now that he has friends who aren't just his retarded trio, he's grown out of that edginess in all but fashion, and soon enough even that's going to completely go away. The hope in the story is really sweet.
