Not saying he shouldn't pull if he wants them, but one bad streak can really fuck your stash up. I had to pull 200 times for winter maiden. Granted you have about 2% probability for it to require that many for one copy, but it's not even remotely "unheard" of tier. If he got that unlucky on elegg and then had to pull on a 1% and got somewhat unlucky there too then that's most of his stash gone.
