The locking latch is pressure-activated so if you put your finger/tool on the place where the outer part snapped off you should be able to feel it contracting/snapping back into the "locked" position as you apply pressure fully inserting the card back in. If when you boot the PC you get a video out signal and no black screen you should be golden. Further, if you are orienting the case horizontal/landscape then the force of gravity should also act on the GPU to keep it well seated into the slot. Does your motherboard only have a single x16 slot or is the quad-slot cooler too fat to move it to another PCIe place?
