At least the series fares better than Kia Asamiya's other work, Compiler, which was "adapted" into three OVAs that are completely different in tone and direction, none of which do a decent job of explaining the universe, characters, or anything, and a series of music clips.

I hope someday they remake Silent Mobius. I love that series' iconography and aesthetic, and the setting is quite interesting
