What people need to know before watching Lodoss is that the series is based on a D&D campaign created by Ryo Mizuno and his friends. The original campaign was serialized in a magazine (essentially transcripts of their D&D sessions), which later evolved into novels and anime. The story is pretty simplistic, even for the standards of the time. The OP pic is Ruin Explorers, which is a charming adventure comedy. I watched it a few years ago, and at the time, I was pissed that it wasn't more popular, so I'm glad it's getting traction.

From what I heard, and this is decades old hearsay, that they were gonna end the TV series with a movie that never came out. I'm kind of split on the TV series as is. On the one hand yeah cliffhanger, but also it kind of feels like a hopeful "The fight doesnt end" type deal the way it was frame. But I admit that's more than partly cope. But, holy crap.
