The plot in 2 is kinda dark, in that everybody is turning demon, but we don't see it, don't see why it's bad, there are no developments and in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter. The only chapters I remeber are about Taro and Hanako getting kidnapped and the tournament arc, both of which don't matter for the original goal.
