Drinking is a lot like sex. It's one of those things where it genuinely depends on who the show runners are because it'll get demonized or glorified. There's no middle or neutral territory. If you you bring up substances, you end up with hardcore Raegan supporters or anti-establishment 'be gay do crimes'. Especially in kid's media where it's exclusively dealing with the extreme because there WILL be an anti smoking/drinking agenda attached. (not really a thing in adult media but I mean specifically YA-T)
I really liked how they showed it in CV where the drinking was just a thing that happened. Everyone was otherwise preocupied with their factions to partying. That said, I like the characters as robots firsts, humans second. If they drink or smoke, I'd like to see more cases like Animated actually, where there seemed to be a purpose for why they would choose oils of different grades.
Megatron had his own, the autobots probably had fucked up diesel.
