Dems achieved Gay Marriage legalization by bringing in moderate Republicans and reluctant Dems with "Civil Unions". Gradually getting people used to the concept. The trans snowflakes just pushed too hard, and turned on anyone who strayed even the tiniest bit from their rhetoric. And also pushed at transitioning children too hard. They wanted what the gays took decades and decades to achieve overnight.
