a) its too fucking big. Like its so fucking big that nothing really matters. You lost that city? Who cares. Lost that hive? Whatever. Planet´s gone? Nothing changes. Oh, lost an entire sub sector? Not even on the radar. You need some real asspull to create any form of stakes.

b) Everyone hyper hates everyone so its always the same dynamics of hyper autists seething about the mutant, the psyker and the xeno.

c) Crappy hives and imperial gothic architecture look way more same-y than empire cities
