You're not going to convince me it is for pussies. It takes a lot of time and effort the more complex an action is. It definitely sucks when you can tell a person didn't take any time to really properly separate the components, then I would be inclined to agree about the "cheapness" of it.
Tweening's strength lies in the consistent way you can do loops. I have massive respect for minus8's longer form animations where there clearly is a lot of time spent in making it look not janky or making great and unjarring transitions (thinking of that sex game animation). That rope animation started lagging ToonSquid so badly because of all the nested symbols I kept cramming in there, hahah.
But ah, I'm wasting my breath. Some of you guys don't like it. That's fine. I like both. Both are good. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Here, take an older frame by frame animation I did as well.
