Doesn't japan tie a series to their toy sales normally though? I'm asking as I'm not sure myself, but given the amount of merch I see for any given Toku series I'm going on an assumption. It sorta makes sense that they just want to try and get the kids/collectors of whatever age and use shows as that medium.

Beyond the MoTW formula are the stories atleast somewhat enjoyable past Ginga?
