Depends on context.
Probably the first thing I think is indeed "free-market socialism", like we have here.
After the "petit bourgeois", shop owners, non-physical workers mostly, were given voting rights, they voted people like Lueger who nationalized the railways, public transport, etc. Inside the city that works great till today. Right wingers complain about the Greens for their sentimental refugee-ism, and it's easy to agree, but also the looks of Vienna gets nicer year after years. Streets are blocked for renovation everywhere in the summer, but you know in two years there will be trees and clean pavements and people don't complain too much.
In the US you have car lobbies and no chance at getting good things people collectively pay for, it seems. Why? State management can work. Maybe it works better exactly because there's 7 party debates and no USA type money printer, I donno.
