Nta but way to ruin entire of context of Mei becoming powerful solely to save Kiana and later learning to respect her wishes. The entire lead to chapter 17 is full of emotional complexity between these two later resolved in a deep heart to heart later. Sorry but kiamei is just the better and more rewarding relationship.
If you still don't get it, then Mei's story was to learn to love Kiana the RIGHT way instead of forcing her decisions on her, same with Kiana. That's why when the two reunite their hearts are one.
