When you think about it, if Ely had been the main character from day one, this game could've really taken off. She's a genki qt like Kianners but better in every single way. I'm just tired at the continuous sterilization of Honkai Impact. The more they make this game samey to their newer games, the more it loses its original grittier, rugged, free-spirited, and raunchier Wapanese appeal. Maybe that was their goal with part 2 but that clearly wasn't working out for them. I think the hatred towards Genshin in HI3 circles, or whatever's left of it, is justified. Genshin pretty much is the embodiment of Mihoyo leaving that cool rebellious masculine spirit away in favour of a more wider, normie, and feminine appeal (these factors go hand in hand) Genshin, and by extension HSR, has. A complete total emasculation influenced by their more popular titles. This is also the same reason why nuhoyofags hate ZZZ.

Elysium Everlasting was this game's apex. I don't blame people for not liking the ending of Part 1 or Part 2 as a whole because it would have been nearly impossible to top ER

Honkai is (was) very story based. Instead of a new character every patch it usually gave characters a new suit, which had a story-based reason behind, and new characters were rare, maybe 1, 2 at most, a year. Then they kept adding more and more characters without fleshing out the current cast, unless you were Mei, Kiana or Fuka. The game is currently pulling a bunch of awful, shallow characters out of it's ass via that Elysian Realm garbage that came out of nowhere.

Eh, I hated the Firefly stuff because it was so obvious it was fake. They speedran her entire life story in two hours, killed her off then she was back in literally the next scene.

Zhuge had like 2~3 patches (Honkai Kingdoms, Odd Drifter and Honkai Kingdoms 2) for the player to get attached and interested in her before they hit you with the Epilogue event where you try desperately to save her. The fact that they also used an instrumental BGM of Theresa's theme song as the lobby BGM and later used the full vocal song during the event was amazing too and I really liked it a lot.

Amphoreus would be about 8000x better if each patch covered the same amount of plot but was half the length and cut the pointless filler. The problem with Amphoreus isn't the payoff, it's that it has really awful setup and has pacing problems with how they try to sell you the banner character's sob story. Only Cipher has been remotely successful in incorporating her story into the central narrative. The reason Amphoreus was called a filler planet in the beginning is because it completely fails to setup the central conflict and reason why we're here. March is still frozen and we got maybe 0.001% of the storyline dedicated to her. THerta and her hijinks comprise 90% of the relevant information for Amphoreus but 0.1% of the storyline. Coral Island at least had some thematic relevance with a character willing to do everything to save a Herrscher like Mei and got two Herrschers down, how muchh of Amphoreus will be relevant in the grand scheme?
