Literally read the manga. The entire last half of the story moves away from their being a sole symbol of peace and the final chapter pushes the notion that being a helping hand is enough to be recognized as a hero which is to contrast with the first chapter where everyone wanted to be a pro hero. It had nothing to do with being a good or nice person.
