If there were something "wrong" with me for feeling this way, realistically, how would I go about fixing it? Is it even a good idea to try? To some extent it feels like this point of view is a strong motivator for something that's improved my life (specifically, going to a place that's almost entirely free of them). I'm open to changing my mind, though.
