I don't think he will handle it well, or at least not in a way that is going to affect the playerbase in the way he wants
He already fucked up by making Suselle so incredibly milquetoast, and then further by showing us how compelling literally every other option is, even withstanding the horror overtones of Ch4 snowgrave
As per his usual MO, Snowgrave will have an ending that is supposed to be depressing and also the most engaging combat encounters in the game, and none of that is going to push anyone off it.
