A lot of people hate him and find him obnoxious at first, but end up loving him and his music by the end. Macross 7 has a way of getting to you, and before you know it, you're cheering for this dude who eats leaves and has the strongest voice in the galaxy (strong enough to canonically penetrate asteroids).
