I think it would be neat to have a summoner class a la Final Fantasy. Maybe just a subclass of some other class or give every spellcasting class access to specific summons. They spend a turn concentrating and then on their next turn you get a big creature that spawns and does a big splashy effect and then immediately fucks off.
