I got a Framework 13 7640U DIY for $800 with:
1TB WD SN7100 for $70
Crucial ram 2x16GB for $70
AX210 WLAN for $20
100W Baseus charger and 2M right angle uGreen cables for $40
So $1,000...
I don't think that's that bad since I'm happy with it.
I've spent much more on laptops that I ended up not liking.

I've owned pretty much every X/T/P series ThinkPad model since the X220/T420/W520.
Modern ThinkPads just suck, either I'm really unlucky or the new ones have really bad QC and just poor construction.

It would be cool if Framework would retrofit old ThinkPads with new motherboards. I would like an X230 with a Ryzen CPU.
