I still think it's crazy how the west perfected the mix of 2D animation and 3D back in Titan A.E and Treasure Planet (over 20 years ago btw) then gave up on it overnight to pursue 3D animation only. Not even Japan still can replicate the mastery achieved in those flicks yet, and their entire shtick is animation.
