Getting some conversation about Inanimae last thread got me thinking and I want to go over a few ideas
>>Mannikins
>...Honestly, why are these guys meant to do?
If you go by the book, be vaguely mysterious and scheme ambiguously about something non-descript. But if you want to actually use them in a chronicle you can only use "nobody knows" as an answer so many times, so here's my idea. The Mannikins are defined by their deep fascination with human beings, they are schemers but their plots and intrigues center on making the world a safer, more comfortable place for humans and to this end they champion Krofting, seeking to bring the Inanimae into forms more compatible with humanity. The darker side of this is that some Mannikins take their fascination with humans too far, and try to keep them as ornaments and playthings as a sort of twisted role-reversal.
Another thing I want to bring up. If the guy I talked about the Paroseme's Frailty is still around, how does this sound as an alternate idea:
>Claustrophobia: Parosemes are never truly comfortable indoors, while they can tolerate spacious chambers and rooms with many windows, they must perform a willpower check to willingly enter an enclosed space (Difficulty varies depending on the nature of the area, some examples might be 6 for an ordinary basement, 8 for an abandoned crypt, and 10 for a narrow crawlspace) In addition, if a Paroseme is imprisoned in a claustrophobic location they lose one point of glamour per day until they are able to free themselves.
Not being able to enter at all on a failed willpower check might be a bit gamebreaking in its own right, so alternatively, maybe when they fail the willpower check they instead recieve a malus to their dice pools until they're able to get back out in the open?

That's fucked up, I love it. Really good way to use Mannikins in a way that's fucked up and twisted enough for the World of Darkness.
