Something worth noting is that the Director Lynch plays a character within the film who wears hearing stuff (like directors would i imagine) and he yells everything like directors would. ACTION!

So if cooper is a manifestation of Laura ‘trying to solve her own murder’ then Lynch’s chr could represent the ‘director’ of Laura’s subconscious because he seems to be the one informing cooper
