3 and 4 are the best games in the series although a strong case can be made for 2. It really comes down to personal preference.
The next tier down is Bad Company 2, 1, and V. Keep in mind this is considering games in their "final forms", not at launch. Both 4 and V for instance improved massively from launch to final.
6 doesn't have much of an excuse to not be the beat game in the series since it's pretty clearly working off if 3 as a blueprint but with nearly a decade and a half of lessons learned and tech improvement since then.
While we're on the subject, Bad Company 2 really proved that you don't need every game to be 32v32 and that 12v12 can actually work great, so I really wish DICE would throw in some slightly smaller maps that adhere to that pop size down the line. Other shooters all do this and have varying map sizes for varying reccomended population counts.
