Step 1: Check if your boot drive is MBR or GPT

Right-click on Start and select Disk Management.

Find your boot drive

Right-click on the disk label on the left side (where it says Disk 1) and select Properties.

Go to the Volumes tab.

Look for the Partition style: it will say either Master Boot Record (MBR) or GUID Partition Table (GPT).

If it says GPT, you’re already good to go for Secure Boot!

If it says MBR, keep going.

Step 2: Convert MBR to GPT (if needed)

Make sure you backed up your data before this step!

Open Command Prompt as Administrator:
Press Start, type cmd, right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as administrator.

Run this command to validate your disk is convertible:
mbr2gpt /validate /disk:1 /allowfullos

If it says validation successful, you’re safe to proceed.

Now convert the disk:
mbr2gpt /convert /disk:1 /allowfullos

Wait for it to finish. It should say conversion successful

Reboot your PC and enter BIOS immediately to switch to UEFI mode.

Step 3: Enable Secure Boot in BIOS

Restart your PC and press Delete or F2 repeatedly as it boots to enter BIOS setup.

In BIOS, go to the Boot tab or sometimes under Advanced Boot Configuration.

Find Boot Mode or CSM (Compatibility Support Module):

Set Boot Mode to UEFI only (or just UEFI).

Disable CSM if possible.

Go to the Security tab or Boot tab and find Secure Boot:
Set Secure Boot to Enabled.

Save and exit BIOS (usually F10).

Windows should boot normally with Secure Boot enabled.

Bonus: Double-check Secure Boot status in Windows

Press Win + R, type:
msinfo32

In the System Information window, look for Secure Boot State:
It should say On if everything went well.

Secure boot basically makes it so that your computer will only boot into a cryptographically signed operating system. You can use your own keys for other operating systems, but for Windows, since it's closed source and you can't compile in your own keys, you have to use Microsoft's keys, which is kind of pointless because I think it will still accept the leaked Microsoft key from over a decade ago, and rootkits can just use that key to boot.

Anyway, the idea is that Windows can verify that it was the first system to boot, it's not running in a VM where its memory state can be easily modified, and it knows exactly which software has been loaded since the device booted.

many people are having concerns about the secure boot requirement of battlefield 6, so here is a quick guide to set up your motherboard for bf6 beta. some of older motherboards do not have that function, but there is a fast and easy way to force it :

Spawn beacon on recon was used 3 ways, either on top of buildings, on cliffs, or epic flanks inside. A Recon would either have a sniper rifle or Carbine/shotgun. So basically you werent exactly going crazy and still provided to your team. Assault having the beacon is gonna be ass cancer especially with an AR+shotgun + Super speed stim. All they did was make Assault more selfish and fucked over Recon in the process

They base their feelings on one or two bad moments, its clear they never experienced a good recons placement of a beacon. Even if its on a cliff you spawn in a parachute/while a close range recon is basically a must for interior sweat squads. What kind of stopped it was the fact Recon could only really use DMRs/shotguns/carbines if they went CQC so they were at a disadvantage to say Assaults but now the Assault with superior handling of ARs gets the beacon. On top of the fact even I played CQC Recon selfishly becasue the beacon allowed me to be crazy aggressive and keep respawning close to a fight

Before V maybe. In V because of the Pathfinder they were the most effective means of having an infinite attack as you could spawn on the whole teams beacons that way. As long as one beacon existed you'd always be able to spawn way closer into the action. In 2042 it was even worse because it was the defult gadget of all recon so every recon had it, plus again there was no class locks. My friend who is a huge Battlefield nut told me his take on battlefield 3. Basically it's that when it launched, it had some huge balance issues and also catered way too hard to the pre-existing Bad Company crowd by focusing maps more around the Rush Gametype than Conquest. But by the end, when all content via DLC was considered, it was the best Battlefield in the series, finally surpassing 2. He also said 4 was "too ambitious" in scope and had a lot of wide open maps that didn't always play as well as 3, even though 4 also ended up arguably being the second or 3rd best game in the series when all was said and done.

3 and 4 are the best games in the series although a strong case can be made for 2. It really comes down to personal preference.
The next tier down is Bad Company 2, 1, and V. Keep in mind this is considering games in their "final forms", not at launch. Both 4 and V for instance improved massively from launch to final.
6 doesn't have much of an excuse to not be the beat game in the series since it's pretty clearly working off if 3 as a blueprint but with nearly a decade and a half of lessons learned and tech improvement since then.
While we're on the subject, Bad Company 2 really proved that you don't need every game to be 32v32 and that 12v12 can actually work great, so I really wish DICE would throw in some slightly smaller maps that adhere to that pop size down the line. Other shooters all do this and have varying map sizes for varying reccomended population counts.

I disagree that half of the maps being better for rush as opposed to conquest made it "rush focused". At worst it was 50/50. I know this is slightly off topic but I'm going fucking insane.

So I decided to turn on secure boot for the bf6 beta. I got an asus m16 from 2022, secure boot is easily able to be turned on from the bios, ez right?

Well since I turned it on, I have had these bewildering issues.
1.Despite my internet working flawlessly speed wise, almost all gaming servers and launchers are broken. Most just give a lot of connection errors and kick me out, but fucking EA app and BLUE ARCHIVE of all things will refuse to load properly and give me cloud desync errors that stop me from playing the game. Xbox app itself does open but it also gives me desync errors.

2. Very very rarely but its happened around 3 times since I turned on SB last night, the pc has can freeze for 3 seconds, which is worrying to say the least.

I didn't mess with anything but secure boot in the bios, did not do anything to the network settings. Turning off secure boot again does not help with any of these issues, updating the bios (even if I was already on the latest version) didn't help, changing a bunch of network settings around didn't help, etc.

I have never had this shit happen before and I'm literally having a mental breakdown because I cannot figure a single logical reason for why turning on secure boot would fucking fuck up something that made it so only game servers would have trouble connecting and nothing else.

There's nothing you could do in ur bios that would affect how game servers connect to your pc.
My only guess is that this is a big coincidence and ur ISP decided to work on its network structure starting at the same exact time you turned on secure boot, so the gaming server errors are completely unrealted.
