from a purely story point of view, the love triangle in DYRL is better written - minmay and misa pick a lane and there's no bullshit with hikaru going back and forth between them. the TV show has a more interesting triangle though, with kaifun and that boyfriend misa had back on mars and stuff, but it's so frustrating to watch. can't say i really hate minmay, a lot of her crimes as a character are easily balanced out in the TV show and are outright absent in the movie
