To be fair and accurate, this started with blue haired millennials. Once they realized they could get people fired and their life seriously set back for doing stuff they didn't like, it was like discovering a digital nuke. Guy says something that offends you? Find his workplace, pour all of his dirt on their table, and ask the workplace how they could possibly hire this person? It's no wonder anxiety is at an all time high, when every single thing you do can be painted in the worst possible light and ruin your professional career. Zoomers are just following in their footsteps. It's why every twitter artist has a giant "no minors allowed here" sign on their profile. No one used to give a shit about this back in the 2000's and early-to-mid 2010's. But now if you even look in the same direction as someone and they happen to be underage, you'll be framed as a predator.

The Internet was better when no one knew anyone's age, because then you could reasonably assume anyone asking about your age was a creep.
