What was going on with the final boss of this movie?

I liked the concept of this character and idea, but it wasn't done well at all. It should have been its own entity, maybe for the third movie and this movie just had a rogue M3gan knock-off from some rival company. They tried to shove too much shit into a single movie, like that new Beetlejuice movie was guilty of too
