My dad played games my entire life. We got a PS1 because he thought Medal of Honor looked cool. He played Plants vs Zombies so religiously my sister's kids remember the music like a subliminal lullaby because he would play it every night.
His dad bought/built an entire gaming computer in the early 00's because my cousin showed him a video of Mech Warrior and he thought the idea of having an arcade cabinet in his house was neat. He was the most computer illiterate person I've ever met up until that point.
My point is, do whatever you like for as long as you like it and dont be afraid to try new hobbies as you get older
