If any of the hero characters were to dislike or not respect Tails' tinkering and engineering it would be Amy, she has no appreciation of that stuff and would most likely find it nerdy. On top of that Amy is explicitly shown to be an extrovert and a social butterfly meanwhile Tails is shown mostly as a shy and introverted fox with some self-doubt. I can easily see these characters as friends but in terms of any relationship I just don't see how they would work out together at all. Amy is definitely the type of girl who would smell self-doubt in a male and be immediately disgusted by it. Mind you I'm not really insulting either Tails or Amy here, I'm just giving my two cents on the ship.
