That used to be the main Japanese design philosophy, and it’s why Final Fantasy and Nomura became a meme because of how many accessories and belts he added to his designs. It wasn’t the norm back then. However, Koreans and especially Chinese tend to take design philosophy to the other extreme and add a ridiculous amount of accessories and over the top details, like the infamous Korean wings that show up in all their MMOs.
